FAQs

What time is check in and check out?

Check in is at 2pm and check out is at 11am. If you wanted to arrive earlier or leave later, please let us know beforehand

Do you allow day guests?

We do allow day guests for an additional charge of £10 per person. We ask that they check out from the site by 8pm

Do you allow BBQs?

BBQs are allowed but must be kept off the ground. Fire pits are available to rent for £10 and firewood is £15 per bucket. Both are available from reception on a first-come, first-served basis.

Do you have electric hook up?

No, we do not provide electric hook up. We are an off grid campsite and prefer that our guests enjoy the natural beauty of the area.

How do I book a pitch next to other members in my group?

We currently do not have set pitches in our camping field as we are quite a large site so you should be able to pitch up next to one another on arrival.

Do you allow dogs?

We welcome dogs, but ask they are kept under control at all times, especially near farm animals. Our three friendly Border Collies roam freely and will likely greet your dog, so please only bring dogs that are comfortable with others.

Do you allow caravans/motorhomes?

Access to the campsite is via narrow, one-way country roads and a bumpy uphill track, so we can’t accommodate large vehicles. Smaller campervans and car tents are welcome.

Do you allow exclusive hire of areas on the campsite for group bookings?

We don’t usually offer exclusive areas, but there’s plenty of space to pitch together and create your own group area. For larger groups, please contact us in advance so we can ensure we can accommodate you.

Where do I park my car?

You may drive onto the field and park by your pitch, but please avoid moving your car unless necessary. Keep to 5–8 mph, watch for children, campers, and animals, and do not drive after dark. If arriving late, we recommend pitching at the field’s edge. See our site rules for details.

Do you lock the campsite at night?

Yes, the gates are usually locked after 8pm - although this is subject to change on our busier weekends. Do let us know if you are checking in after that time.

Where are the bell tents located?

Bell tents are in the main field among regular pitches; please leave at least 10m when pitching nearby.

They’re ideal for groups, with space for additional tents alongside.

Where can I find the animals?

Our alpacas roam freely in nearby fields, often spotted along the woodland footpaths. You’ll also find our pigs—Dolly, Dotty and Mildred—next to the camping field.

Our friendly farm dogs, Millie, Bob and Freddie, love to play. We also have three free-roaming goats—Myrtle, Martha and Arthur—please admire them from a distance as they may headbutt if approached.

Is there food available on site?

We allow you to drive onto the camping field and park up next to where you wish to pitch. However, we ask that once you have parked that you do not drive again until absolutely necessary and when driving in the field to keep to our speed limit of 5mph to 8mph. Please be aware of children, other campers and animals while driving. We ask you not to drive your car in the field after dark. If you are arriving after dark having arranged a later check in with us, then we would recommend pitching at the edge of the camping field. Please see our site rules for more details
